Wisdom from Solomon!

February 25, 2010

I love the Psalms! Reading through them, there is nothing in my life, or anyone else’s, that is not addressed in the Psalms. In my daily reading today a few verses stuck out like gems:

Psalm 127:3-5

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,

The fruit of the womb is a reward.

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,

So are the children of one’s youth.

Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them,

They shall not be ashamed,

But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

Solomon, ever poetic, gives a wonderful idea of who children are, even in the mother’s womb. I’m glad he asked for wisdom, because this little gem is brilliant.
